El primer ministro de Israel, Benjamín Netanyahu, ha anunciado que no aceptará un alto el fuego temporal con Hamás a menos que se liberen a los más de 240 rehenes, en una declaración televisada previa al Shabat.

Durante la visita del secretario de Estado estadounidense, Antony Blinken, Netanyahu afirmó que rechaza cualquier cese temporal de hostilidades que no incluya la liberación de los rehenes y también reafirmó la negativa de Israel a permitir la entrada de combustible a Gaza. Netanyahu subrayó su determinación en lograr una victoria contundente que resonará en las generaciones futuras, asegurando que Israel no se detendrá hasta la derrota de Hamás, el retorno de los rehenes y la restauración de la seguridad para sus ciudadanos y niños.

عائلة أبو علبة الفلسطينية، تحمل الجنسية الأمريكية، كانت في زيارة عند عائلتها في غزة. بحسب الزوجة “نهى أبو علبة”، تواصل زوجها المقيم في الولايات المتحدة مع السفارة الأمريكية، وقد طلبت منه أن تتجه عائلته إلى معبر رفح عبر الطريق الساحلي. لكن قرب حي الشيخ عجلين تعرضت حافلتهم للقصف، مما أسفر عن إصابة أفراد العائلة وإصابة السائق بجراح خطيرة، وقد هربوا وهم جرحى لنحو كيلو متر مشيا على الأقدام باتجاه مستشفى القدس.
